Ashtanga Yoga Institute of Brussels

The teaching given in the classes at the Ashtanga Yoga Institute is faithful to the Ashtanga Yoga (Yoga Korunta) taught by Shri K. Pattabhi Jois at the Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute in Mysore, Karnataka, Southern India.

Practice of postures :

Ashtanga Yoga can be practised by anyone, of any age. It does not matter how fit or supple you are (although you should not practise if you have a fever.) You can wear whatever you like, as long as it is not too tight and leaves you free to move. You should practise barefoot so as not to slip, and it is better not to eat for a couple of hours beforehand.
