OM I bow before the lotus feet of the Guru Who awakens the inner vision of pure being, Who gives happiness and deepest joy, Who is the refuge and the healer, and who banishes Illusion and the suffering it brings, caused by the poison of Samsāra. I prostrate myself before Ādiśeşa, Who has thousands of heads, radiant and white, And who has taken the form of Patañjali, in whose hands are held A conch shell which emits a divine sound (representing the divine origin of the five elements), A disc of light, wondrous to behold (representing the infinite power of the spirit) And the flaming sword of knowledge (which destroys ignorance).
